summer is coming and so is the fun

summer is just about here and its time to get out side and have fun in the sun. my favorite things to do in the summer time is hang with friends at the beach swimming, jet skiing, and playing volleyball. i also like to play basketball out doors of course go golfing and ride my horse.

probably my favorite of all of those is riding and showing my horse. i do speed with my horse, no not the drug, its a type of disicpline that includes barrel racing, pole bending, and other "games" on horseback. typically it is done in a western saddle, at very high rates of speed. in order to do this type of riding and do it well you need good riding skills, a well trained horse, speed, be able to think and make decisions in a split second and you have to be a little bit crazy.

6 years ago a bought a horse and she was only 6 years old and barely green broke. this means it was hardly riden and didnt know much of anything. i wanted to train her myself and that is wat i did. i trained her for 4 years and everything was going great till one night i went to a friends house to ride and when trailering her home something happened in that trailer that we will never know and it caused her to kick through and escape door. to make the story short she cut her leg all the way through her deep flexer tendon and had to be put down. it was the hardest decision of my life. but 2 years ago i got anther horse and i have been training her and she is great this past year we went to the state competion and took 5 top 10`s out of 6 classes.

another type of riding i like to do is trail riding. i like to trail ride because it can be both fast and also slow and relaxing. placing i get to trail ride are in the kettles, on my propery on friends property and also out west. my favorite place to go is out west. when you are out there it is so much fun riding through the moutains and letting the horse do its thing and watching them work. when you are out west trail riding you get to see things that you normally would never get to see and even if you are not a experienced rider i would encourage you to take a guided trip trial riding throught the mountains.

March Madness!!!

NCAA basketball tournament also known as March Madness, is a time basketball fans wait for all year. in the tournament 64 teams start and only one is given the honor of being national champion. For these couple weeks in march college basketball fans are tuned in to everygame. Brackets are made , and bets are placed.

After selection sunday, which is 4 days before games beginning, is when teams find out who they are up against. that following day brackets are the most popular things being printed off and handed out. At work, between friends, online, brackets are filled out in hopes of winning the the pools. Filling out the brackets you feel confident that this is a "good one" you feel you have all the picks right.

This is where the term March Madness comes in. Every year there is and under dog team that rises to the occation to ruin everyones bracket except for those lucky few who guessed the upset. There are so many upsets and close games and the thrill of final second shots and overtime play. March Madness is what every team looks forward to and a goal they all try to reach. Then once in the tourament its a goal of being that cinderella story. those picked to loose in the first round want to prove everyone wrong. Those picked to go all the way know that they must take every game seriously and not be the team to be upset.

In the end it is all about the fun, antisapation, and excitment that make March Madness thee event to watch for college basketball fans. Its the superbowl of football. Its the Daytona 500 of Nascar. Its the Rolex of equestian riding.

Lessons Learned

This past weekend I was talked into trying snowboarding for the first time ever. I knew it was going to ne interesting and that is was. After a few times down the hill and falling a million times I took a breather at the top. I thought this could be a great time to do my English homework. So as I sat in the cold snow I looked around and saw all these little kids. Some with there parents and some where zooming down the hill like pros, making me feel even better about myself. There was this one father and son team that really caught my attention. The son had to have been no more that 6 years old and he was so determined so ski on his own. This little one was different than he others in that he was so in tune and focused to what his dad was telling him. Most little kids just go and try to do it on their own cause they see the other kids their age doing so. But this little kid who was all bundled up was so focused. His dad would tell him one thing then go try it. When he fell, he would get up, and ask what did I do wrong? I was so surprised, cause most little boys try and do it on their own without help from anyone.
As I was watching I could see the little boy getting better and better with each pass down the hill. His dad was so proud, and excited to see his son ski. I could tell that his dad had a passion for skiing. I think the best part about this whole thing was the expression on this little ones face. He would get upset but only for a sec then he would smile and try again. I could tell he was having a great time learning this new sport. Finally after a few more passes down the hill with improvements each time, he made it. Down the hill he went all the way to the bottom with out falling. It was great I was even happy for him. His father was so excited his face lit up and he had a smile from ear to ear. He raced down the hill to congratulate his boy. The little boy was so happy as well.
I feel we can all learn from this. when ever we are learning something knew we should try the advice given to us. i mean what do we know? we should take thier advice and if we dont find it works for us then it doesnt thank them for the advice and move on. when this young one becomes more skilled he mit modify his techniques to better suit him. also stay focused nad dont give up. just keep striving for it set your self a goal and strive for it.

Military

this past engish assignment we had to do was to interview people of a different subculture. the subculture i chose was the military. i chose the military becaus i hav always been interested in it since i was younger. my friends and i when we were younger would always play outside with fake guns and i remember clearly how we would always be running around shooting at the invisable enemies.

what ever happened to those days where kids would play out side and imagine things and let those imagineations take them on adventures. the days where all u needed where a couple friends or siblings. i remember my brothers and i would go in the back and play for hours on end in the creek making damn and then breaking um, or playing cops and robbers, or the best one hind and seek. i never had more fun then hind and seek.when we got older hind and seek turned in to hind and run if they get close otherwise you were getting shot at with paint balls.

Also when we got older we got more dangerous. we also didnt get your ordinary toys. instead of bikes we got DIRT BIKES. Then soon after that we got a 4-wheelers and instead of playing tag on foot we were playing tag on the run. and when winter time came we would tie tires and sled to the back of the 4 wheeler and zoom around the yard.
Yes we may have had the advantage of living in the country but we were always outside playing. we were brainstorm together ideas ( not always safe ones that our mother liked) but neverthe less we were out socializing and enjoying eachothers company.
The point i want to make is that i feel now adays kids dnt do that as often. they lock themselfs in there room and are playing video games or on the computer. bt they are seperating them selfs from the world. they arent socializing with others unless its through electronic means. I dont feel its healthy both phsically and mentally to be sitting there starring at a screne for hours on end. mayb iam just bias becaus i was raised different bt looking at some of these people and hearing about these people who just go to skool then come home and seperate them selves from society they are missing out. a few i have met hav no social skills that are so important in the real world. now iam not saying video games are the devil i play them everyonce in a while bt to be on them all the time is not healthy. i encouage everyone to get outside use your imagination take your self back to being a kid.

Wisconsin winter

One thing that bugs me about the wisconsin winter is not the snow or the cold or the ice. its the people that complain about the snow the cold and the ice and the bad weather. HELLO!! its wisconsin this is america you can leave. the best part is the older people who have lived here their whole life and every year they complain. its like they are waiting for a year where it will b like summer. note to self its not goin to happen and complaining about it isnt going to change it.

So i figure winter is quite a long season and i personally like winter caus then i get to bring out the snowmobile. i figure i mine as well find a sport for winter since we are in it 1/3rd of the year. I look forward to winter every year. i think snowmobiling is one of the best winter sports there is for a few reasons. reason one is i like to go fast. reason two is when you go up north or even some places araound here you get to see land and terrain that you would ever even knew was out there. third reason i find snowmobiling an escape from all life problem.

when iam out snowmobiling thats all i focus on. there is no job or school work or relationship problems when you are on the sled. there are a few down fall to the sport of snowmobiling. snowmobiling is not a cheap sport between the snowmobilie it self along with all the mantanice it needs it cost a pretty penny over the course of a season.

another thing i love about the wisconsin winter is christmas and spending time with family and friends. most people when they think of winter think of the cold the snow and just misurable weather. i think of snowmobiling other winter sports but also spending valuable time with loved ones. other better than having that hot chocolate and curled up by the fire with the one you love.

hunting season

There is no other feeling in the world like sitting in your deer standing waiting for the new day to begin, and a possible story that will be made. i look forward to deer season every year, nothing gets your heart going like a deer coming closer and closer to you and seeing the atlers and knowing in a few minutes i will have my first trophy buck and that i need to make this shot count.
This year was that year for me. i got my first trophy buck. i shot a big 10 point buck last weekend on the second day of the gun season. it was sunday after noon and our hunting party has been doing drives all day and we were gearing up for our next one. we know this next drive held the biggest potential. i was honored when the group decided that i should be the stander(which means iam the quarter back and the play maker). they trusted me with making the shots.
I knew i couldnt let them down. so we stared making the drive and we were getting close to the end and i was starting to get disappointed and thinking no deer were going to come out. then all of a sudden a gun shot went off then an other and another and then i saw him about 400 yds away. then one more gun shot went off and then here he came running full board rit for me. i shouldered my gun and all i noticed was the big rack portuding from his head. i let off a shot then another and another. i said to my self wat am i doing he is only getting closer and i have one shot left i need to make this count. so i shouldered my gun again with my last round in my chamber. i put the cross hairs rit on his chest and followed him. when he was about 125yds i felt confident and squeezed the trigger. down he went i got him right in the chest.
He was done or so i thought. he got back up and stared running rit for me again. i said to myself u have got to be kinding me i knew i hit him good but we didnt want a buck like this get away so i yelled to my cousin and he put one more in him just to make sure and about another 20 yds is all he went. when examining the deer we came to the conclusion that i could rightfully call him mine. i was the one that gave him the bullet that would have ended his life. so now soon he will be on my wall and i will be able to tell this story for years to come, and i have a memory that will last a life time.

white collar world

How many of you feel out of place in curtain situations? Feel like you have to conform to the ways of others cause you are out numbered? Well thats how I felt when i entered in to high school. I am a country boy born and raised and iam proud of it. But I didn`t always used to be so proud of that.
I went to and graduated from Sheboygan Lutheran High School. Lutheran high is more of a white collar school you can say, and there is nothing wrong with that. The first 2 years of my high school life really helped me to find myself. I was a " blue collar kid in a white collar school." For the first 2 years I tried to fit in and confrom and not stand out. Then the summer after sophmore year I changed. That summer I realized and found the old me, the blue collar me. I cant really pin point what made me change my thinking anywhere from working the farm, hanging with my country friends, meeting a great girl, or other things.
From then on I changed my whole out look on life. I said to myself Iam who Iam and if people don`t like me for me Iam not going to change to just be friends with them, cause then there not really friends with you. I want people to want me for me. Ever since I have found myself I have been so much happier and have had more fun.
I encourage everyone to just be yourself, not to try and change for others. One guy I know said this to me " you make to many friends when you bull shit." For lack of better turns he was right. You shouldn`t have to go about your life wearing a mask. My advice to all is be your self let the focks in hollywood do the acting.
